Mission 

The Canadian Diplomatic Family Network connects family members of Government of Canada (GoC) representatives at diplomatic missions, and advocates for them to have the best possible experience while preparing for a posting, at post, and when returning to Canada.

Vision 

The CDFN develops and maintains a strong network within the GoC to advocate for our members. We connect our members, share information, and improve communications through multiple platforms. Through active collaboration, guided by shared values and objectives, we forge a strong global Canadian diplomatic community.

Goals

• Increase visibility and membership through consistent information sharing with the wider community 
• Provide platforms for families’ voices to be heard 
• Capture the diverse experiences of accompanying family members, raise awareness within the GoC and advocate for policy modernization and effective implementation to address identified issues
• Create a spousal network to connect and share experiences,  plus establish effective communication channels with members
• Share information and resources to accompanying family members to improve their experience at post, preparing for post, and after post
• Increase visibility and membership through consistent information sharing with the wider community
